Interior design of an apartment in Iris Park

A new residence in the Iris Park building, Sofia, awaiting Act 16, and a young successful owner entrusted our architectural studio with the task of transforming the apartment into his unique place. We started with enthusiasm and inspiration, ready to create a modern interior project personalized to the client’s desires.

Even in this contemporary architectural project, it was necessary to rearrange the standardized architectural layout with the goal of optimizing and individualizing the spaces. Part of the assignment was integrating a sense of nature, which became the main theme of the interior.

Part of our assignment for a modern interior project was also the client’s desire to incorporate a sense of nature. And that’s what we did. We didn’t just incorporate it, but made it the main theme.

Upon entering the living room, we discover the natural corner around the dining table, integrated into a unique designer island oriented toward seating. The selected luxury lighting fixtures with built-in planters carry the natural motif throughout the space. From the several TV unit variants we developed, the client chose our favorite. In it, the unit makes a gesture toward the natural zone and with “spread wings” almost touches it. The gesture is emphasized in both the suspended ceiling and the floor through an arc that resonates in the opposite furniture as well. The chosen materials and colors: wood decor, olive green, natural white plaster further contribute to the natural harmony, while black accents bring a sense of modern style.

The theme carries from the main room to the other spaces, where it becomes a contemporary interpretation of Japanese architecture, whose philosophy is to be a harmonious part of nature. The wardrobe in the bedroom is inspired by sliding Japanese screens with rice paper, and above the bedroom a stylized natural motif is visible. The two symmetrical mirrors frame the bedroom, creating surprising moments in the interior, while the opposite wall is resolved with wallpaper reminiscent of Japanese fabric with a rhythm of elegant wooden slats. The flowing forms and clean lines of the furniture contribute to the stylish and harmonious atmosphere.

The stylized natural motif on the built-in coat rack (for which we specially created space in the apartment through minor renovation), combined with elegant wooden slats and natural white plaster on the walls in combination with a mirror built into modern paneling, preserve the modern style already established in the interior. The paneling delicately unifies the doors to the toilet and wet room.

In the bathroom, the natural motif continues with an accent relief tile of stylized palm leaves, and their surprising combination with “corten steel” decor tile brings contemporary character. We optimized the narrow space with fully retractable glass screens and complemented the sense of style with black accents.

The toilet, with minimal dimensions and a ceiling broken by installations, is visually enlarged through a mirror along the entire side opposite the sink, while light decorative plaster unifies the space.

Following the line of the natural motif and Japanese style, the interior of the apartment in Iris Park represents a memorable modern interior with a unique vision that you would hardly find on Pinterest (unless it was published by us).
